Monday, July 18, 2005 that's what bloggers do
i have always been casted upon the idea that blogs are a form of webpages for friends to get together through the internet, but not in real time - save that for msn. having a blog allows you to convey what you want to tell your friends without having to be expected to chat on real time. it's sort of a, own-time-own-target thing. blogs, are like the new fab. you can dress it up, you can link up friends, you can post pictures of yourself and your friends, interesting pictures and so much more. but once i read xiaxue's blog, i find my previous opinion of what a blog is has expanded. changed, even. from xiaxue, it progressed to an urge to read more. mr brown was next. then it was miyagi. xiaxue's friends. then ting. joewei struck me as a misfit. she's obviously a beautiful lady, yet she twirls her photos. these famous bloggers have been blogging for years. then, there were some. i'm talking about bloggers who blogs for barely a year, yet, suddenly struck to super blog-dom. people like http://www.kennysia.com and rockson the ah beng. just one mention on a famous blog, and eureka! you find yourself being pals, rubbing shoulders with xiaxue and the like. they left me fazed. it's like, dude, they don't even have posts like " hey people this is my first blog post, mmm, nothing interesting yet, trying to figure blogger out!". but hey, they are still interesting to read about! one particularly stood out, and that's http://sixthseal.com huai bin. he's a recreational drug user who used to study in australia and have this superb short story about a young asian studying in new zealand and his life. fact or fiction? you decide. he shocked me. why is it that he isn't raided and thrown into jail? with all due respect, i enjoy reading his blog. i find him good looking too, even though he does go through fat phases. he's simply intruging and his entries about drugs is certainly very educational and very real. bloggers are so enthuastic about their blogs that they have even planned, liase with, and just plain rocked about to have a singapore bloggercon getting started up! talk about getting up on your feet and getting things to start happening. and who says that singaporeans only know how to speak and no actions? take that. blogs also breaks down the segregation of the international borders. take for example, you experience the streets of london after the disgusting bombings with http://www.blinkymummy.blogspot.com or you can take a look, at toronto with http://www.bigfuck.blogspot.com how about a bit of the kuching taste with kenny sia and his big coconuts? let's not even go to the blogs overseas, just this little asian social circle and you can feel the diamonds in the rough. dude, you're not even talking about these guys blogging for work obligations!? they blog, for their own reasons, and that's certainly not to entertain you dimwits. this is getting boring. let's just finish this off with bloggers is as bloggers does. and that's what bloggers do. first day of a sophomore
as i was driving home, some unknown source drew me to mills point. as i pull away my layers of jackets, it struck me odd. how come winter has such strong sun? i feel sunburnt now. swan river greeted me with the most beautiful vision. the river gleamed. and reflected the skyline of perth city, almost like those old skool mr bean thame river production adverbs you used to see when you were prolly 6, 7 years old. right by the foreshore, a pelican floated alone, solitary in its presence. further, deeper, into the river, was 2 black swans, gliding side by side. and the sun rays, struck the face of the body of water and diamonds glittered over the surface.the smell of the salted air, the cool breeze combined with the strong sunny rays. it was my little piece of heaven. only mine for now.
